I love 京都

(Left to Right: Supermarket sushi = delicious, Japanese maple leaves (or just maple leaves, if I am in Japan?) in Gion by Yasaka shrine, Pretty Hydrangeas,  and pumpkin miso soup)
Five days ago, I arrived in Kyoto for some relaxation, shopping, eating (lots of food), and spending time with my family.  This Saturday, I head off to Tokyo for my business trip portion of my visit. I am excited to see my beautiful work spouse, but I'm slightly dreading 11 hour days that start on Monday.

Kyoto is one of my favorite places in the world and I have been feeling quite nostalgic. I am so happy to be back after three years. I have really missed seeing my grandparents.  It is rainy season, but luckily for me, I haven't gotten caught in the rain. Good thing because I didn't carry an umbrella. I am here at a good time, usually it is later in the summer and it is really humid/miserable. Apparently it is miserably hot in DC, so I am glad that I escaped in time! Well, I need to start my day, but I hope to post more pictures of trip.  Stay cool!
